Welcome to all Members of Westmill Wind Farm Co-operative.

Amongst the greatest challenges we face today are the rising cost and security of energy supply, and the impact of climate change. There is increasing world-wide demand for dwindling stocks of traditional fossil fuels. We have reached the point where the development of sustainable energy sources is no longer a distant ideal but a real and urgent need. The Government has provided appropriate signals and industry is responding, but everybody can play a part in tackling these challenges.

There is a clear way forward for sustainable energy generation. Wind-generated power is now a viable and trusted alternative to traditional methods of electricity production.

The Westmill Wind Farm Co-operative is about individuals and organisations taking control of a situation that will affect us all. And that is why on 5th November 2004 Westmill won the award for Best Renewable Energy Initiative in the South East sponsored by the Countryside Agency, Government Office South East, South East England Development Agency, South East England Regional Assembly and Thames Valley Energy.
