Wind Share Call
share offer
share offer
we offer to share with you
and you and you and you
this planet of ours
and profit from it gently if we may
but that’s not for today
for today we offer to share with you
power
fresh Windshare Power
hour after turbine hour
Battle joined decade ago
idea-seed planted to slowly grow
held fast by some say Quixotic Folk
without whom we could not share today
and grow seed did fighting back ill weeds
and ill winds blasted from Didcot Way
not knowing victory would rest here today
as wind’s shared by all protestors and objectors
and those that sat on fence
Benefits for all at the Windshare Stall
Hard not to recall those media rants and toxic rebuffs
those bureaucratic and politocratic turnstiles we trundled through and round and round with no Kissing Gate in sight
but tonight we celebrate victory in the fight
for the right
to share electric wind to comfort old folks in electric blankets and light-safe children’s playgrounds and their Future Green which, if objectors had had their way
would be nowhere to be seen.
So, step up one, and step up all
step up and answer the Windshare call
